Wedding dresses are an interesting niche for PVC figures. I’ve seen enough anime to know there’s societal pressure to maintain purity and abstinence until marriage, which runs counter to the fan-service nature of many shows. Whatever the paradoxical hangup, I think wedding figures are always beautifully designed. There are a few figures, such as super thicc Super Sonico, Yagyu Jubei, and Ignis, I’d consider buying in the near future. For now, I’m happy with Sansei Muramasa from Nitroplus’s Soukou Akki Muramasa. I’ve never played the visual novel (and because I own a Mac, I probably never will), but I’ve seen a few Muramasa figures and I like this one the best.

She comes to us in a flourishing white crinoline skirt, layered in the back like a tall wedding cake. A white corset sits tight around her torso but barely manages to stay strapped onto her shoulders. Her thighs peek from the skirt she flirtatiously lifts from the ground, while the rest of her legs are covered in white stockings leading to dangerously sexy heels. Her hair, as white as her bridal gown, is decorated with a pink flower. Muramasa offers onlookers a gentle smile.

She can be displayed with the skirt on or off. When on, the outfit begs to be held by her interchangeable hands, which are fitted to pinch the dress. Without the skirt she can use her clasped hands, and this look suggests a number of different moods. Maybe she’s confident in her sex appeal. Maybe she’s begging for a challenge, as she’s still a raging demonic suit-of-armor (I think?) that can kick ass. Either way, she’s quite the charmer.

I will say that she’s one of my rare cast-off figures without a ginormous butt. Her chest, visible once the top half of the corset is removed, is definitely worth a gander. But she’s very pretty as it is, and her legs are shapely in their heels and undergarment. Her buttocks are tight and sculpted rather than voluminous. I’m an equal opportunity ass-man.

A few more things to note: Sansei Muramasa’s outfit is incredibly detailed and meticulous, especially considering the low price point for this figure. I own figures that cost twice as much and didn’t feature the attention to detail this has. The scalloped panties, and the white flowers painted onto its semi-transparent pink surface, are exceptionally well done. The corset has a symmetrical, butterfly-like lace on the back. The mostly white color scheme kept the paint job simple, but even so, the treatment of frills and flowers and bowties makes this figure absolutely angelic.

The other thing about Muramasa is she’s not just tan like some of my other figures: she’s brown. The contrast of her dark skin against the white outfit and its pink accoutrements is stunning. She looks really, really good in her wedding dress. And as a matter of course, I’m a big fan of minority-type characters getting a chance to shine.
Enjoy the rest of Sansei Muramasa, she’s a most welcome addition to my collection. Hobby Japan did a great job with this one.
