Reika came in the mail early September. The first surprise was the fact she’s 1/5 scale (and not 1/6 like I anticipated), making her the tallest figure I own. The second surprise–although not very much so– was the fact I had no clear way of accessing her cast-off features. The other Lechery figure I own, Marie Mamiya, was similarly ambiguous in this regard. I eventually figured it out, hence this post.

Reika was created by doujinshi artist Gustav, who’s illustrated a couple manga based on the character. What I like about Reika is her presence. She poses with a hip on her hand and teasingly tugs at some useless panty string. If you’re her master, she likes you and she wants nothing more than to please you–trust me, I’ve read the source material. With a default skin and a tanned skin to choose from, I made the rare decision to go with the lighter skin. That navy blue on porcelain flesh is a lovely distinction.

In addition to her sassy stance, the details here add to Reika’s charm. Her fingernails and toenails are painted coral blue. The painting on her knee-high, laced heeled boots is actually quite good, and it was one of the reasons I preordered to begin with. Her hands are dynamic, tentative, caught in medias res. As someone who’s drawn a few hands during this year’s Inktober, I appreciate a good hand when I see it. Wrapping the red string around Reika’s fingers is a lovely touch.

As for the cast-off features, my Slingshot Babe was the only figure that came with instructions, so I’ve learned through experience that pulling the heads off these figures usually helps remove the remaining attire. Not so with Reika! One must remove her maid’s cap before pulling off the faceplate, much like a Nendoroid or figma. This allowed me to put on the alternative face, which is necessary if one wants to display with the alternative panties, or without panties.

Removing the panties involves unbuttoning them at the front, then slipping them down the right leg. Putting it back on is considerably more annoying, so I’ve only done it once and don’t plan to do it again. The bra is another project that requires delicately unbuttoning in the back and squeezing it past her jacket and over the breasts. Again, I did it once, but Reika will always have her clothes on in my house for the foreseeable future.

As my wife has noted, Reika’s lacking in the plumpness department. She makes up for with long and lithe limbs, and overall adherence to comic-book standards of beauty. Her butt is okay, but the breasts are the stars here. That’s what otaku are into, right? Large breasts? Reika’s got them, along with perfectly perky nipples.

Writing this review was tough since I haven’t been at it for a while. But if readers are to take away something from all this, it’s the fact I like Reika, and I think she was worth the wait. Her manga, Reika wa Karei na Boku no Maid, is actually cute as far as erotic work goes, so read it wherever you can.
