Finally, I have a Ban figure! They’re busty, long-legged, and share a sultry-eyed, sideways glance. Last year I developed “Ban Fever,” and searched high and low for an affordable figure of his. It turns out that pre-ordering is the only way to secure a low price point, so I put Ayame on my list. I’ve mentioned this before, but I had an “on again, off again” love affair with this figure. Several photographs later, I think I like her.

I like this PVC rendering of Ayame better than the original illustration. There’s a happy medium between runway model and music video vixen, tall frame and meaty body–not that either extreme is unpleasant. I admit, it’s hard to describe these ero figures after a while, since I default to fuller-figured women who may or may not be similar in appearance. Let’s say she’s hot, alright? Good.

Something tells me Ayame’s occupation is “former teacher or office worker turned sex worker, but uses previous job experience to dominate naughty, overachieving sexual deviants.” The white shirt and black skirt, though too small for most professional settings, are at least in the spirit of white-collar jobs. The pretty black bowtie, and leggings with diamond cutouts–and those crazy metal shoes!–aren’t office appropriate. School teacher and secretary cosplay have never been fantasies of mine, but if I were unmarried, had lots of disposable income, and wanted to be pegged by a vaguely Asian-looking Amazon, maybe things would be different.

Ayame is a beautiful figure, but man…her accessories are a pain in the ass! The stack of books she stands on does not easily fit into the metal pegs her base comes with. I spent ten minutes matching those holes and shoving the books onto them. Any scratches I made will be forever hidden under the books, thank God.

Her skirt was removable in the preorder photos, but not so much in real life. Most figures separate movable parts with a sheet of plastic film, but Ayame had no such thing. Someone on MyFigureCollection said skirt removal was possible, but offered no practical info on this. Already frustrated by the book nonsense, I pulled at the skirt until it peeled from the shirt. There didn’t seem to be glue holding it in place, but the color transfer suggests that the skirt isn’t meant to be replaced. Oh well!

The highest crime here is the fact Ayame’s secondary bust, the one without a bra, doesn’t fit in the chest cavity. The peg is too big! I tried pulling it out, and then hacked at it with several knives and saws in my multitool kit, but industrial plastic is no joke. I eventually took my photos and called it a day; I didn’t like her titties anyway (although they look good in these photos…)

I’ll end with this: despite my frustration with Ayame, I don’t plan on selling her. I think my photos of her are the best photos I’ve ever taken. The poor cast-off design is an injustice to a brilliant illustrator, but with clothes on, she looks great atop my detolf. And because this is Ban, there’s a strap-on dildo. Enjoy.
